If you are considering lasik surgery in Southern California, browse this site to learn more about laser eye surgery and California lasik surgeon Dr. Robert Fabricant and Dr. Richmond E. Roeske.
LASIK surgery involves reshaping the cornea of the eye to correct refractive errors. Refractive errors include nearsightedness or farsightedness. The lasik, or Laser Assisted in Situ Keratomileusis, uses an instrument known as a microkeratome to make a protective flap of the cornea, which is gently folded back. You will then be asked to look at a focusing light. At this point the laser tracks your eye movement while the small spot laser beam precisely reshapes the cornea in a matter of seconds. At the end, the protective flap is folded back into place where it bonds securely without stitches.
