Dr. Fabricant is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in cataract and anterior segment surgery. He founded Pacific Eye Institute in 1981 and today serves as Medical Director and surgeon. With more than four decades of experience, having performed more than 50,000 cataract procedures, Dr. Fabricant is a nationally recognized leader in corneal/anterior segment surgery. He has been voted Top Doctor by his peers and has been the recipient of the Castle Connoly Top Doctor award since 2015.
Dr. Fabricant is the inventor of the Fabricant System, an aspiration device used for cataract removal. He has published numerous research articles on cellular growth control while serving as a research scientist at National Cancer Institute in Bethesda Maryland and is a senior author of fourteen scientific publications in refereed journals including Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS), New England Journal of Medicine (NEJM), and others.
In addition to his work in the Inland Empire, Dr. Fabricant has a passion for providing eye care for the underserved. He performed volunteer work while training in the Tarahumara Mountains of Northern Mexico and currently hosts Mission Cataract annually, in December, for uninsured patients.
An avid sports enthusiast, Dr. Fabricant, is a marathon runner (including Boston), was a skipper in the 125 mile International Ensenada Yacht race, was a former race-car competitor in his Ford GT40, and has been honing his skills in Argentine Tango for more than a decade.
