Unifeye Vision Partners (UVP or the Company), a leading network of comprehensive eye care providers and a portfolio company of Waud Capital Partners (Waud Capital), today announced its strategic partnership with Pacific Eye Institute (PEI).

Pacific Eye Institute is the leading comprehensive ophthalmic service provider in the Inland Southern California market with 17 ophthalmologists and six optometrists operating across six clinical locations and one ambulatory surgery center. PEI was founded by Robert Fabricant, M.D. over 30 years ago, and has experienced significant growth over that time. In addition to Dr. Fabricant, PEI is led by Drs. Richmond Roeske and Jesse Dovich.

“My partners and I are delighted to join UVP,” said Dr. Fabricant. “We evaluated several alternatives and found UVP to be the best fit. UVP embraces local governance and local leadership and understands where and how they can add value to our practice. We’re all partners, we share similar values, and our interests are aligned as we work together to continue to provide our patients with outstanding care and enhance our current position in the market.”

“We are thrilled to welcome PEI to the UVP community,” said Sami Abbasi, President and CEO of Unifeye Vision Partners. “We were attracted to PEI because Bob, Rich and Jesse have built it into one of the most reputable ophthalmology practices in the country. They’re committed to providing the highest quality care to their patients, to recruiting and retaining the finest physicians, to treating their employees fairly, and to ensuring that the PEI legacy lives on. This is in keeping with our beliefs and aspirations for our affiliated practices and team members.”

Abbasi continued, “We’re building the leading, nationally-recognized integrated eye care community in the country and are focused on a limited number of initial geographies. PEI represents a very attractive foundation for us in the Southern California market, just as Minnesota Eye Consultants did in the Upper Midwest market. Our goal is to become the preeminent vision care provider in each of these regions over the next several years.”
